I will never disclose how many plants I’ve killed. Yes, it’s that bad. I have the opposite of a green thumb, so for me, faux plants are the way to go. Florals and greenery add so much color and life to a room that I simply can’t go without them. Fortunately, for people like me, we have many beautiful, faux options. I include them in many of my design projects, as well as in my own home. I started Chic Design three years ago, and you would be surprised how many of my clients are plant killers too. I’m definitely not alone in this boat!

So, what are some of the staple faux plants and flowers?

The fiddle leaf fig has been a wildly popular and trendy plant. They are also one that you have to shop wisely for. They can either look incredible or like a total disaster. They are the perfect plant to put in a dead space. What is a dead space you ask? Well, simply put, it’s a corner of a room that is empty. Something definitely belongs there, but nothing seems appropriate. That’s where the fiddle leaf fig come into play. They’re the perfect addition to complete a room.

Boxwood topiaries are another great option. They come in many different shapes and sizes. If you’re looking to add a stylish and sophisticated touch to a room, these are recommended. High quality boxwood can be pricey, but will last forever.

A personal favorite of mine are orchids. Orchids are so beautiful and add an elegant and soft touch to any room. Living rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms can always benefit from a high-quality faux orchid. I prefer white, as it’s more subtle and soothing, but there’s nothing wrong with using an orchid to add a splash of color.

Tulips make another great faux floral arrangement. With a clear vase and hardened acrylic, it’s hard to go wrong.

If you prefer a more exotic look, the faux dracaena will definitely create an edgy feel. They come in many shades, varying from light to dark greens, even burgundy.

If you have a masculine space, palm greenery and branches are both fantastic options.

Remember, you can dramatically change the look with different vases and bases, yet again, creating your own personal touch and style. Photos can be misleading, so be sure to read customer reviews as it’s crucial in selecting the best available that fits your price point.

These are all great options for lush greenery and florals year-round… without sun and water! If you would like more information, or beautiful faux plant/floral sources, send an email to ChicHomeTC@gmail.com.
